$trip (feat. Rico Love) is a song by Portuguese singer Tahlia, marking the fourth official English-language single from the artist and performer as she continues to build anticipation towards her first ever full length English language studio album. The track is expected to appear on the forthcoming album, TBA (2026), joining previous singles “Sun-Kissed”, “Bad Guys” and “Touch Me Like That” as the early releases from the project while also serving the purpose of introducing Tahlia to a more worldwide audience. The collaboration with Rico Love reportedly came about during writing sessions in Los Angeles in early 2025, where the labelmates were introduced primarily due to their Latin styles and influences, with the Chilean artist Rico Love working on his own material around the same period of time as Tahlia working on tracks for her eventual album. According to insiders, the pair were connected with the primary goal of appealing to the nightlife culture and club dance scene globally.
Musically, “$trip” incorporates elements of pop, Latin and dance genres. The production, handled by Miguel Avilá, featuring high energy beats, layered synths, a pulsating bassline and reggaeton-inspired percussion. The arrangement of the track puts focus on the sound of music as it’s primary element, focussing on the rhythm section which aligns perfectly with the songs club-oriented atmosphere. Lyrically, the track explores themes of sensuality, attraction and self-confidence. Tahlia delivering her verses in a mix of English and Portuguese, highlighting her Latin roots. With it’s lyrics describing a moment of intimate connection on the dance floor, recurring themes of desire and performance the vocal combination between male and female works perfectly within the context of the song, providing both aspects of the experience to the listener. Rico Love’s guest verse gives a playful and confident male perspective, complimenting Tahlia’s assertive and lustful tone throughout the track.
It was recorded at RVV Recording Studios, Los Angeles, California, USA and is set to be released on June 7, 2026 by Royale Vices & Virtues INC via digital download, streaming and airplay formats. The track was written by Tahlia Amorim-Coelho, Rico Love and Miguel Avilá and produced by Miguel Avilá.
Song Description; The track opens with a summery tropical instrumental backdrop with elements of reggaeton percussion with steel drums, Spanish guitar arrangement and a rhythmic bassline that immediately establishes the song’s seductive summer atmosphere. Production from Miguel Avilá blends contemporary Latin-pop influences with mainstream high-energy dance production. Tahlia introduces the track fully as she sings with a breathy and sensual vocal delivery,
“Body electric, got you feeling the connection/Eyes locked and there’s an undeniable fire burning inside of us/Drinks on the table/Hands got that free roam/Embracing every curve, watch me back it up/Baby, I know we ain’t searching for love in the club/But tonight, I’ll take your lust.” which just serves to drive home the tracks flirtatious and intimate tone that continues throughout the track as its central theme.
She follows up the opening verse with a switch to Portuguese which serves a bridge to the hook and chorus of the track, she delivers the lyrics,
“Mãos uma sobre a outra/Línguas entrelaçadas num doce abraço/O teu toque faz-me saber que isso não acabou/Vamos levar um ao outro/Para um lugar especial/lugar especial.” showcasing her first language which loosely translates to,
“Hands intertwined/tongues intertwined in a sweet embrace/Your touch lets me know this isn't over/Let's take each other to a special place/A special place.” with the change up in language matching beautifully to the tracks Latin-pop and dance-pop tone, adding a further romantic and exotic atmosphere to the song.
The songs hook and chorus combination arrives as the tracks explodes into its most accessible and ear-worm worthy form, the percussion becomes heavier and the bassline more prominent which add a larger scale to the track as Tahlia’s vocals are free to run as she delivers the hook with a confident tone,
“Baby take me home and I’ll show you what you’re in for/Body like a goddess/Watch me put on a real show.” which serves as a perfect lead-in to the songs outright sultry chorus which puts her vocal tone, her ability to sing breathy and sultry to it’s best use as she sings out,
“Honey, watch me strip for you/Relax and enjoy the view/Watch me put on a show, boy your hands are free to roam/This body may be mine/But tonight, papi, it’s all for you.” which combined with the latin rhythms, dance-pop production and flirtatious lyrics creates a section of the track that feels perfectly designed for summer playlists.
Following the songs chorus, Rico Love makes his guest appearance on the track as the high-energy dance-pop nature of the chorus makes way for a more rhythm-focused tone and groove. His arrival provides a male counter-part to Tahlia’s earlier verse and bridge, delivering his own offering with swagger and confidence with a blend of English and Spanish language,
“Yo girl you be looking fine, me encantan tus curvas/You got me burning up like fire/Watching you strip it down/Sit back and relax, chica your body is making me wanna tap that/Respaldalo en mi, work it on me/Baby girl you be looking a million bucks/Now stop teasing me, you want me just say the word/You can get on top of me and show me what you can do/Tonight I’ll show you why they call me Loverman/Chica you think you can handle this Chilean heat.” further adding to the Latin adjacent identity of the track while providing a masculine counterpart to Tahlia’s seductive energy. Throughout his verse, Rico embraces his playful bravado and flirtation, leaning into the song’s nightclub vibe. As Rico’s verse concludes, the familiar pre-chorus and chorus melody returns with Tahlia taking the vocal lead once more to close out the track.
