“Alone With You” is the second single by British-Japanese singer-songwriter, dancer and former member of The Dolls Lacy Brown. “Alone With You” follows on from her debut solo single “Boy Bye.” Which was last last year and became a hit when it peaked at #3 on the singles chart. “Alone With You”, showcases a different side to the 34 year-old as this song incorporates an overall disco sound and vibe. When it comes to production it was handled by Xavier Jones and the Swedish production team called Persephone, whom have worked extensively with Lacy on her entire album which is called “Not Just A Dancer.” Which is scheduled for release later this year. The track was written by Lacy herself and talks about not really wanting to be with a guy but also wanting to be with a guy and has got some serious conflicting emotions, according to the singer herself the inspiration for “Alone With You” came from a relationship with an ex-boyfriend. Critical reception for “Alone With You.” Has been universally positive with many critics claiming that the track is perfect for the time of year and could see it becoming a summer banger. Ezra Edwards wrote in his review. “Yes come through miss Brown, this song is funky and perfect for the summer and hello this track totally shows that Lacy was criminally unappreciated during her time in The Dolls because this track has some absolutely fire vocals!” Frankie Dallas wrote in his review. “Oh my god I absolutely love love this I low-key wanna know who this boy is that she’s singing about this track is a bop and perfect for the summer months.” Laney Greggson gave the song an 8.5/10 on her review writing. “Okay after her debut I was really looking forward to what else she’s been cooking up and I am not disappointed this is such a funky track and a modern twist on the disco sound that was famous during the 70s and I am here for it and girl the vocals are fire!” Faye Childs wrote in her review. “Okay this track is making me even more excited for her first solo album…I absolutely agree with what a lot of the media is saying why the hell was Lacy not vocally showcased more during her time in The Dolls yes we get it her purpose was to be the bomb and killer as dancer and choreographer but the gal can definitely SANG!” Zander Connors wrote in his review. “Killer vibe check, funky production check, sassy gorgeous vocals check, summer banger check, there is nothing negative I could say about this song because it’s literally one of the best pop songs I’ve heard in the last few months and I am gonna be blasting this all summer long!”
