“EDELWEISS” is the new single released by Pop/Dance group The Jollies.
The song marks a playful yet emotional chapter in the group’s journey, reminiscent of carefree youth, neon lights and late nights that never really end.
Written during a period of reflection and reunion, Edelweiss was born from memories that all five members share: a small bar that slowly turns into a bowling alley, an arcade room, a safe place where time seems to stop. A place where you go after work, after school, after life hits hard — and suddenly you’re young again.
The song tells the story of a group of friends who keep coming back to the same spot, year after year. No matter how old they get, no matter how much changes outside, inside that place they are still laughing, teasing each other, playing games, eating cheap burgers, flirting, dreaming. It’s not about being wild — it’s about feeling light again.
Sonically, Edelweiss leans into a bouncy, ironic dance groove with spoken moments, catchy hooks and an almost nostalgic club rhythm. The track feels casual, spontaneous and honest, just like the nights it describes. The influence of playful European pop and tongue-in-cheek lyrics gives the song its distinctive character.
The vocals are shared between all five members, often overlapping and interrupting each other, creating the feeling of a loud group conversation rather than a traditional pop performance. Laughter, ad-libs and shouted phrases are intentionally left in, reinforcing the idea that this song is a memory more than a performance.
As David Power Hernandez explained:
“Some places grow old with you. Others keep you young. That’s what Edelweiss is about. No matter the circumstances or the difficulties you are taking with you in whatever phase of your life you are. Just have fun.”
Natasha Stanovski added:
“It’s that bar where you don’t care how you look, where everyone knows your name, where you remember who you were — and realize you still are.”
Zafari explains more:
"Man, we wanted to put out there something that was about old friends getting together in a place that made feel good. So there's nods to our 90s' world as well, it's like now we gettin' older, but not forgetting who we are.
Rose Hemsworth closed by saying:
Edelweiss feels like a gentle reminder — like someone taking your hand and saying, ‘It’s okay to laugh, it’s okay to play, it’s okay to feel light again.’ Those moments are precious.”
